Pay2Win is the answer to “What is the most illogical conclusion of pay-to-win mechanics infesting gaming?”. I had this question a decade ago and the answer I came up with back then would be a game that’s completely based around payment. There is no gameplay. There is only spending.

I very recently launched https://pay2win.online/, the implementation of that awful idea. In Pay2Win, every $1 USD nets you 100 useless internet points. Those points put you on a scoreboard. To get higher on the scoreboard, you must Pay2Win.

![A screenshot of an example Pay2Win scoreboard.

At the top of the scoreboard, you can see 4th place. You cannot see 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place.

In 4th place is Frederick (with “MUCH better than you” in parentheses) with 2500 points. In 5th place is Bethany (with “better than you” in parentheses) with 2000 points. In 6th place, bold text says “THIS COULD BE YOU” with 1500 points. In 7th place is Frank (with “worse than you” in parentheses) with 1000 points. In 8th place is Johnny (with “a complete joke” in parentheses) with 500 points.](attachment:82ba0887-7653-457d-a7bb-f881483094ec:image.png)

On one hand, I hope this is successful and I make a bunch of money. On the other hand, I don’t want to burn what little faith in humanity I have left.

This project is the first product I’m launching as part of my LLC. I’m gonna try to be an independent for a while, see where that goes. Whether that’s Pay2Win shenanigans, gamedev, contracting, or consulting, I’m not sure yet. But I am rather enjoying the process of exploring and figuring it all out.

As this is a commercial venture, I’m not open-sourcing this project.

Where to get it
